New for 2009 we are delighted to announce that we can offer our guests two opportunities to further enjoy the outdoors around Darrynane.

Firstly, we have stocked the lower quarry pond with over 100 brown and rainbow trout, and fishing is currently free to our guests, on a catch and release basis only. An Environment Agency License is required however.

Secondly, we are in the process of creating a series of nature trails through the 20 acre quarry so that guests can explore the area which teems with wildlife - but it is wild so don't expect to see it easily!

To date we have seen roe deer, foxes, rabbits, kestrels, ravens, peregrines,  kingfishers, heron  plus all the other traditional countryside birds including woodpeckers. We have even had moth collectors in with their overnight lights
